Robotic approach

The procedure works the same way as traditional laparoscopy, but the instruments are held by the arms of a robot controlled by the surgeon.

The surgeon is in the same room as the patient, but at a distance. An assistant stands next to the patient. The incisions are between 8 and 10 mm long. This approach allows for more precise movements with articulated instruments and greater comfort for the surgeon. However, no benefits or drawbacks have been demonstrated for other patients, apart from the higher cost of this procedure, which is covered by the insurance company.
