Fibroid

Benign muscle tumors that have developed from the uterine muscle.

We also often talk about fibroids. Very common in the general population (affecting more than 50% of women over the age of 40), they can vary in size and develop in different parts of the uterus, leading to a range of symptoms: abnormal bleeding, compression of surrounding organs, or no symptoms at all. Fibroids are only rarely malignant (it is estimated that the incidence ranges from 1.3 to 1.1 per 1,000).
